Wonderfully Made

“There is no real purpose for your life.” Or, “we are all here, but there is no reason for it. You live, you die, and then dust we become.” Wow…that doesn’t make me want to do anything in this life. Thanks for the motivation! There are many people who don’t believe in the existence of God. So instead, they believe that our existence came from chance. Possibly something like the “Big Bang Theory” where we are all results of a mindless explosion billions of years ago. But there is definitely no work of God’s hands in your life, because…there is no God. But whoa, wait a minute. If you are here to tell me there is no God, then there definitely isn’t any hope for us. So then what’s the point of doing anything in this life if there is no point to anything at all?

Well the good news is that there is a point to my life and there is also one for yours. In fact, there is an infinite creator, God, who gave your life a purpose. Actually, he is highly invested in YOUR life. Yes, yours. Why is he invested in YOUR life you may ask? Why would he even care about you? After all you are just one person out of the many, right? Well the reason is because God CREATED you. It says in Psalm 139:13, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.” God actually took the time to make you, to create every little awesome, wonderful, special thing about you. He planned you from the start. From the beginning he made you for something, and he is going to use you and see you through to the end. He has a plan for you. I think a lot of times we forget this.

We get caught up in the mistakes that we have made and the times in this life where we are not good enough and we think that God has forgotten about me because I am unforgiveable. But God is here to tell you that when he looks at you he doesn’t see what you have done; he sees what he has made. Instead of seeing your faults, he sees beauty; He sees what he has made, fearfully and wonderfully (Psalm 139:14). He doesn’t look at us as sinners, because he sees us through his son. He sees perfect. He sees his creation! He sees the one who is spotless, who died on the cross to make us pleasing in God’s eyes. His blood redeems us so that we would know that we have a purpose. We are not here by chance because God doesn’t take chances. He takes purposes and uses them for his glory. Let God use you today, knowing that even though you are a sinner, he sees a perfect purpose in you that no one else could complete.
